This is a an old crop coffee. Crop year is 2020, but it has been stored in Grain Pro bags in our roastery to maintain its vitality. As this is old crop coffee you'll see a slight dampening of the coffee's brightness and higher tones. The lower end body and sweetness will still hold up. Let us know if you have any questions. For discounted coffees we ship once a few orders of each has been made. So your order might sit in the roastery for a week. Cheers.
This Kenya Nguvu AA is awesome. It's classic Kenya in the acidity: citrusy, bright, clean, and tropical, it feels like a basket of clean, fresh fruit. But it also carries with it a body and density that I find to be uncommon in most Kenyans. It has weight to it. And in that weight you find lots of honey and brown sugar. The weight lets it function well as espresso, but it absolutely shines as filter coffee. All that honey and all that fruity acidity just balance each other so well.
The coffee itself is a blend from smallholder cooperatives in the Murang'a district, in Kenya's Central Province. The area is known for rich, red, loamy soil and high altitudes. This shows in the juiciness of the cup.
